A Year End Thank You
This has been…a year. A lot of bad. Lost a lot of people I cared about. Lost two pets. Lost a ton of amazing artists and creators around the world. Every single thing politically that has happened. A LOT of bad.
But there have been good things. I have fantastic friends. I love my family. And I published my first book. (Psst…you can still buy it RIGHT HERE. It won’t get there for Christmas but you’ll still enjoy it!)
I managed to start this Substack and keep it going with my nonsense for the year. I hope you’ve enjoyed what I do here. I’ve enjoyed creating for you especially as social media has gotten more and more useless and steal-ey. But I do think I’ve earned myself a little break so I’m going to take one! Starting today through January 4th, the Paintmonkey is officially taking a little vacation!
I hope everyone has a safe and joyous holiday season. Be safe. Enjoy your loved ones. And may we ALL get the worldwide present we all so desperately want and need!
-The Paintmonkey

Very best wishes for a great holiday season and 2026 for you and yours!
If you need a quick and fun pick me up, be sure to look for Colbert’s Cancelled Christmas animation online. The team that creates these are dead on accurate with their detail. Be sure to stay to the very end for a message any real artist like yourself will appreciate!
John you always brighten my day with your post- even with the sad post, I feel like I have someone I can relate to and who was a great friend to someone I loved dearly
May your holidays be bright and May the New Year bring you and the world all the best
Merry Christmas 🎄
