Brain Stimulus
It’s hard to come by, especially at the end of the year. I have my One Panel VSS that I do every week, but I was looking for something a little different. I use two prompt words on those and have to combine them in a way that I think will create a scene that evokes an image that would make sense in the context of a story. That is tough, but it’s a nice exercise for my creative brain. I wanted something a little…simpler, I guess?
Enter Skottie Young, one of the many comic artists I follow! He re-started his daily sketches, which are a joy. But he, like many of us had an issue with the daily inspiration. So he made a list of 100 words and every day he uses one word as the prompt for that day’s sketch. I haven’t made a list, but I have the website that I use to gather my One Panel VSS prompts and I just used that with it set for one word.
The first one that popped up was “detect”.
Obviously, this is very much like one of Mr. Young’s daily sketches…but I enjoyed it. It gave me the quick idea to work on and do my art exercise for the day. It will probably evolve but for now this is good.
I hope you’re having a good week. Be safe. Watch out for each other.
