Friday Thoughts

I like this as a regular feature. It lets me choose a topic I have feelings about. I have several ideas written down and I’m excited to loosen my mind on a variety of stuff. HOWEVER…this stupid world sometimes gets so chaotic, you can’t focus. There’s a war on. Gas prices are insane. I woke up the other day to a friend telling me about a CNN story about an online class about how to ASSAULT YOUR WIFE. A “class” about drugging your spouse. And assaulting them. I…do not have words for this. (Happy note: right before I started writing this, a friend sent a news story that Poland is the first country to start filing charges against participants. I hope MANY more nations follow suit.)

Every single day it is some ridiculous thing. Yesterday we woke up to li’l Petey Kegsbreath reciting “scripture” to a meeting of generals. The “scripture”? Samuel L. Jackson’s made up Ezekiel verse 25:17 from Pulp Fiction. Everything that inadequate Lego headed drunk does is performative. He’s a “tough guy” doing “tough talk” and “tough actions” (ie: war crimes) pandering to his syphilis based dementia ridden boss.

Speaking of the orange turd…he has spent the week (starting on Orthodox Easter) attacking the pope and posting ai imagery of himself as Jesus. In the image’s defense (just kidding. I will never defend ai.) in the sky above trumple-jesus is what appears to be the figure of Baal, the Canaanite fertility and storm deity who was eventually assimilated into medieval demonology. But in the exact fashion to which we have all become accustomed…the con-man in chief DENIED that he was portrayed as the son of God and he thought it was an image of him as a doctor. That’s…not better, is it? The funny addendum to this was that KKKaroline Leavitt did a presser where SHE said the image had been “doctored” and 1000% that is what they told the idiot to say and he just said “doctor”. Jesus, indeed.

All that to say…obviously, I couldn’t concentrate on just one thing this week. I am kinda new to writing in this form. Most of my posts are stream of consciousness. I am starting to take notes and make more formal concepts. But I am still an artist first and writer second. Ideas are a swirling mess which is easier to portray in visual form for me. Words not easy. Even being southern and loving language and storytelling…my brain is not automatically wired for that.

I hope this entertains you for the day. I tried to include humor and hope with these awful things. Be good to each other and have a good and safe weekend.
