Friday Thoughts
May 01, 2026
This is one of those weeks that is…harder…than others. Everything that happens with this damnable administration is just exhausting.
It started last weekend with the “attempted shooting”. Was it real? Staged? A bunch of incompetency by the agencies we’re supposed to have trust in? Does it even matter? I argue no, he has made the world into a fiction. Only the parasites who suck up to the degenerate criminal even act like they “believe him”. Can we trust anything around him? Of course not. But staged or not, it all leads to the same thing. The push for public funding for a ball room that none of us ever asked for or wanted. 400 million of our dollars. What happened to all of that private money that had been raised? I’m kidding. We know exactly who pocketed that.
There was the passport news. He’s gonna put his gargoyle face on U.S. passports. Surely even his ridiculous supporters are sick of seeing him plaster that scowling garbage head on everything he can find space. Now the good news is that this has the potential to be excruciatingly funny. This moronic passport add-on is only available at one D.C. passport office, and it has to be requested. I genuinely hope that no one wants that drooping mug on their id and it’s just one more thing that enrages him and leads to that blood clot taking a walkabout.
Then came the REALLY bad thing. The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act making it perfectly legal for feckless republican held states to gerrymander people of color out of existence. They can’t win on the merits of their ideas and rhetoric and lies anymore so…disenfranchise everyone who can’t be controlled. And all of these lead me to my final thought today. It’s been on my mind for awhile now.
After the “assassination attempt” all of the pundits, politicians, and talking heads weep-ily pleading “political violence is never called for”. Is it to be expected, though? Between this administration taking down the global economy, sending our military to commit war crimes and die, and allowing data centers and their tech bro douche-lords to run rampant over the countryside stealing all our talents and resources and charging us exorbitant amounts for the privilege…at what point does their violence against the citizenry of the planet warrant an acceptable reaction? They have to know a push-back is coming. That’s why they keep pumping up their little goon squads. What happens when they take everything and don’t even offer the bread and circuses? What then, “Caesar”?
I hope everyone had at least one little thing that made them smile this week. Mine was finally getting a special art paper that I haven’t used in decades. For those of you taking part in the May Day blackout protests today, good luck and be safe! Show them what power we have. For everyone, have a safe weekend and make your voice heard.
