Randomly Drawn
April 15th, 2026
Sadly, it’s not so random this week. On Friday April 10, the world lost a creative titan. Sid Krofft joined his younger brother Marty, who passed away a few years ago. I decided that I wanted to do a little tribute piece to the men who helped shape (and scar) so many of our early lives. These shows were psychotic. Human sized costumed monsters in swirling psychedelic colors. Absolute nightmare inducing creatures that reached into a child’s psyche and twisted it around in their hissing claws (looking at you Sleestacks. I know I had at least one paralysis demon nightmare based on those things.) Just lunatic stories and poppy music and the most brightly colored sets ever throughout all of it.
And we loved every second. THAT is a hard line to walk. The Krofft brothers did it better than anyone. So rather than a Randomly Drawn of my favorite show (Land of the Lost, obviously. Dinosaurs! Rawr!)…I thought I’d throw in a bunch of their craziness. Enjoy!
If anyone asks why Gen X is the way it is…these two amazing brothers are probably a LARGE part of it. Thank you so much to both and I am keeping all of your loved ones, family, and millions of fans in my heart.
I hope this makes you smile in the middle of the week. Things are still terrible around the world. Enjoy some crazy beauty that they brought into the world.

I know I saw a bit of Pufnstuf and more of Wonderbug (but really only recall the car itself not any stories). Land of the Lost was my jam too. Everybody! “Marshall, Will and Holly on a routine exhibition…”
