Sketch Sunday
March 29, 2026
Another small week of sketches but there IS an exciting reason. I am in the middle of prepping to (hopefully) do a few art shows or conventions soon! This is a weird prospect for me as I don’t totally fit in either. I do fine art, but some of it is of dinosaurs. I have a book of a cartoon alphabet, but it’s more overtly political than most fiction. Anyways, I’m working on a lot of smaller affordable pieces that I think people will like! I’ll figure all this out but if you have any opinions, let me know!
First up for the sketches is a sad one. The amazing Sam Kieth passed away earlier this month. He was a one of a kind talent. You knew IMMEDIATELY when he had worked on a story. He was the co-creator of the Sandman (full credit to him now as far as I’m concerned), did many memorable books for Marvel and DC, and created the independent comic and later tv cartoon The Maxx. I was down about his passing so I drew the Maxx thinking of him and his family.
Next up is the planning sketch for DJ Paintmonkey from Friday. I liked the idea of the speakers behind but I ran out of room.
And finally, we got around to watching the second season of Fallout. Is it my favorite show? No. Does it feature Walton Goggins with no nose and a variety of hats via flashback scenes? Why, yes it does! We’re in. I doodled this as we were finishing up.
I hope everyone stayed safe yesterday. Judging by the amount of angry little trolls on the internets yesterday…it got people’s attention. Keep taking care of yourselves and keep their feet to the fire.
